Connection needs somewhere to go.

Meeting a mentor or joining a community is a starting point. The experience needs to support what happens next: a conversation, a shared activity, a task to work through, or feedback that helps someone take another step.

Hyve brings social participation and structured mentorship together. The product has to leave room for informal connections while giving mentors and mentees a clear way to organise their work, follow a cohort, and return to an ongoing learning journey.

Create a community people can explore

Member profiles, portfolios, clubs, and events give people different ways to participate. Clubs organise activity around shared interests, with posts and conversations keeping the community experience connected.

Give mentorship a practical structure

Dedicated mentor and mentee experiences connect cohorts with weekly tasks and submissions. A mentor can work with their cohort while a mentee can see the tasks and history relevant to their own participation.

Keep the conversation within reach

Direct messaging, cohort discussions, and notifications connect the structured parts of the product with everyday interaction. Members can move between learning activity and the people involved without losing the context of the community.

One mobile foundation, different member journeys.

Hyve uses React Native, Expo, and TypeScript. Separate onboarding and mentorship flows account for mentor and mentee roles, while shared components support profiles, clubs, tasks, and account settings across the application.

TanStack Query manages data fetched from the API, and Zustand supports application state. Socket connections and push notification handling support conversations and updates, with navigation that can take a member to the relevant activity.
